Save money on utilities or increase the value of your home by installing solar panels as a great option.
Additional flow of power to Kishtwar

The project will bring an additional power flow of ~1,000 MW from Pakaldul Hydro Electric project to the region for the next 35 years. The people will utilize the green power produced in the hydro power plant as the same power will get pooled at Kishtwar substation which was not the case earlier.

Develop reliable source of power

It will help in creating a reliable transmission network by directly connecting to the grid. This will also improve the quality and reliability of power flow to the region, thereby helping reduce the loadshedding.

Alternate source of power

Currently, Kishtwar is fed through only one power transmission line, which leads to significant power woes when the existing line is down for maintenance or due to technical glitch. The additional power flow through Kishtwar transmission line will help alleviate the dependence on existing transmission line.

Meet demand-supply gap

While the existing transmission line has a capacity to supply power of 80 MW, the demand for power in the area is of 140 MW, leading to power supply constraints. The additional power flow through Kishtwar transmission line will help bridge this demand-supply gap.

Evacuate power from other HEPs
The energy infrastructure will be enhanced by the UKTL project's commitment to boosting Karnataka's transfer speed.
Evacuate power from other HEPs

The project will help in evacuating power from Pakaldul (1000 MW), Kiru (624 MW) and Kwar (540 MW) hydroelectric projects (HEPs) in the region, thereby enhancing the power supply to the region.

Strengthen the local economy

The project will thus enable uninterrupted, reliable and quality power supply to the Kishtwar region, in turn strengthening the economy and empowering the local community.
